Adsorption is a physical-chemical phenomenon in which water molecules in the gaseous state are attracted to and retained on the surface of an adsorbent material.

After some time, this surface becomes saturated and needs to be regenerated.

To allow adsorption and regeneration to be a continuous process, the Hybrid adsorption dryer has two towers, filled with adsorbent material.

While one tower adsorbs the water molecules, the other tower is regenerating, with the air flowing in opposite directions. A system of valves and electronic control directs the flows and determines the adsorption and regeneration times.

The Hybrid adsorption dryer provides compressed air with a dew point of -40°C to -100°C and absolute humidity of 0.0104gH2O/kgAr to 0.00001gH2O/kgAr.

There are five regeneration alternatives, according to the needs of the application: Heaterless, Vacuum Assisted, Internally Heated, Externally Heated and Blower Purge.

Another distinguishing feature of the Hybrid adsorption compressed air dryer is the exclusive use of Hybrid HD, a hybrid adsorbent material made of activated alumina and molecular sieve with a very high capacity for retaining water vapor molecules, both at low and high relative humidity rates.
