The international standard ISO 50001 was created to increase organizations' energy efficiency and, thereby, make them more competitive and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
These objectives are fully aligned with Metalplan's pillars since the company's foundation four decades ago. Therefore, we are the world's first manufacturer certified in ISO 50001 - Energy Management in the segment of compressed air, gases, and industrial refrigeration.
Metalplan's Energy Management System was implemented at the Cajamar factory in the state of São Paulo, based on the definition of an energy policy. Objectives and goals for reducing energy consumption were established, with the adoption of continuous improvement actions.
The first certification was granted in 2012, months after the creation of ISO 50001, and the certificate has been renewed since then, demonstrating Metalplan's commitment to energy efficiency, the foundation for the sustainability and competitiveness of companies.
